There is something incredibly personal about a bridal bouquet. As a wedding planner, I always see it as more than a beautiful floral arrangement. It becomes part of the bride’s story, a detail she will hold close as she walks towards one of the most important moments of her life.
After designing countless weddings, these are three things I always recommend considering when choosing yours.
Let your wedding inspire the bouquet.
Your bouquet should feel connected to the atmosphere you are creating. Think about your venue, your dress, the season, and the overall aesthetic of your celebration. A romantic garden wedding may call for delicate, organic flowers, while a more contemporary celebration might feel beautiful with a sculptural, refined arrangement. When everything speaks the same visual language, the result feels effortless.

Choose flowers that feel like you.
I always encourage my brides to look beyond what is trending. Perhaps there is a flower you have always loved, a particular scent that brings back a beautiful memory, or a color that simply feels like home. These personal details can make your bouquet infinitely more meaningful. The most beautiful arrangements are often the ones that reveal something about the woman carrying them.
Think about how you want to feel.
This is perhaps my favorite piece of advice. Before choosing flowers, ask yourself how you want to feel when you hold your bouquet. Romantic? Sophisticated? Natural? Effortless? Your florist can translate that feeling into texture, movement, color, and form.
And remember: your bouquet does not need to be extravagant to be extraordinary. Sometimes the most refined beauty comes from knowing exactly what to include, and what to leave out.
When I look back at the weddings I have designed, the bouquets I remember most are not necessarily the largest or most elaborate. They are the ones that felt perfectly right for the bride.
Because your bouquet should not simply complete your look. It should feel like a beautiful extension of you.
