Thinking about your wedding is much more than just imaging your dream celebration; it also requires finding the right way to make it happen – which is not an easy task. Given the complexity of the processes behind weddings, there’s been a rising demand for Wedding Planners, individuals the bride & groom can rely on and trust to carry out such an important day. It often occurs that agitation & lack of knowledge become the main reason why the bride & groom make some mistakes that can be troublesome if not handled with care.
Today, I want to present three common mistakes to avoid while planning your wedding, which will allow you to enjoy this experience fully.
1) Not knowing what it is that you desire.
Who doesn’t know where they’re headed won’t know what road to take. Not only does this apply to life, but so does to your wedding! If you lack clarity on what you’d like, the decoration you look forward to, etc., planning your wedding will be a challenging task to fulfil. It is up to you to select what it is that you want to put a spotlight on, whether it’s an unforgettable culinary experience, an astonishing flower aisle, or a massive party with a top-tier orchestra and DJ if flowers are not your thing.
The possibilities are endless! Once you’ve decided what you want at your wedding, we may begin bringing it to life!
2) Not establishing a budget or exceeding the budget.
A wedding is a significant economic investment, one of the most important in your and your significant other’s life. Establishing a budget is just as important as sticking to it if you wish to avoid your wedding expenses from getting out of hand. To have complete control over your expenditures, I recommend establishing a percentage of the budget for every aspect of your wedding. That way, you can focus on what you consider the most important: Dresses, location, decoration, production, catering, entertainment, etc. This varies according to each wedding concept.
3) Not starting with enough time beforehand.
No rule establishes a specific time to plan your wedding, but it is crucial to start this process with a considerable amount of time to bring to life the wedding you’ve always dreamed of. Weddings with many guests require more time for RSVPs, whereas boutique weddings with fewer guests require more time to dedicate to details and exclusivities. Whether you’ve started your wedding process up to two years or advance, or you consider one year is more than enough time to plan this important day, the best advice I can provide to you is: start planning it at least eight months before the date you’ve selected for your wedding. This way, you won’t rush or suffer through the preparation process and will devote enough attention to the attention you wish to give your guests.
